Scope of work: The IT Security Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a position within the Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is responsible for supporting the ArcSight Security Information Event Management system (SIEM) using Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) to monitor security events from a wide collection of devices across a large global enterprise.
Required skills/competencies: Key Experience Areas ? ArcSight ESM monitoring, or other SIEM product ? SOC experience Key Knowledge Areas ? Security devices such as network and host-based firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filtering ? TCP/IP functions, such as CIDR blocks, subnets, addressing, protocols ? Attack activities such as scans, man-in-the-middle, sniffing, DoS, DDoS, abnormal activities from worms, Trojans, viruses ? Threats, vulnerabilities, risks, assets, exposure, safeguards ? SSL-VPN and IPSEC ? Enterprise-level Anti-virus products ? Windows file sharing and authentication ? Active Directory ? Two-factor authentication ? Databases ? Confidentiality, Integrity Availability ? PCI requirements Key Duties ? Review data source events from ESM to determine key events for input to content development ? Write incident reports that can be easily understood and acted upon by other groups ? Perform QA (Quality Assurance) function on content developed by other parties General Skills ? Excellent written and verbal skills ? Strong desire to analyze root cause ? Desire to keeping current on changes in the threat and vulnerability landscape ? High level of attention to detail and accuracy ? High ethical standard ? High level of attention to detail and accuracy ? Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Minimum Background Requirements: ? University/College degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Engineering preferred) ? Three years Information Security experience in a complex security environment ? Information Security Qualification (e.g. CISSP) ? Detailed knowledge of at least one operating system (prefer Windows and/or Linux)
Preferred Skills: Strongly Desirable Skills ? Experience in the operation of ArcSight ESM ? Experience in the development of ArcSight Content ? Experience in the configuration and management of ArcSight Appliances
