Director of Radiology *
Description:
The Director of Radiology supervises the technical operation of the Imaging Department. The Director Communicates, coordinates, delegates, and assigns the daily activities of Imaging Department. Maintains technical proficiency and expertise in areas of responsibility. Supervises patient flow and staffing. Provides testing for patients with many different clinical conditions and all age ranges. Maintains current procedural protocols, computer files, equipment maintenance program and quality control data. Ensures facility technical and documentation expectations are consistent with JCAHO and meets Regulatory requirements in accordance with the State Rules and Regulations. Ensures that the section meets regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Currently certified/licensed with the State of Florida as a Radiologic Technologist. ARRT req. ARRT or more modality pref. and current BLS Certification req.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. BS degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years experience in Radiology. Two years experience in management.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Requires excellent communication and organizational skills. Computer skills required. Ability to interact positively and effectively with volunteers, employees, physicians and the public. Ability to problem solve and diplomatically handle complaints. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional, understanding and courteous. Ability to manage a team and work with others to ensure quality patient care.
