We need Systems Engineers to work on cruise ships throughout the world!
The Systems Engineer is responsible for configuring, installing, programming and troubleshooting Interactive Television systems on cruise ships. The position requires overseas travel for extended periods (3 to 5 weeks) for projects several times per year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and designing network implementation
„X Design network physical topology
„X Create IP scheme
„X Create network diagram
„X Create security document
„X Design network layout
„X Design patch panel scheme
„X Assist in creating a building list of materials
Building and configuring the headend equipment
„X Install and configure Windows operating systems
„X Install and configure Microsoft products (SQL, IIS, DHCP, DNS, ASP.NET, Active Directory)
„X Install and configure proprietary software
„X Configure and test switches and routers
„X Configure and test digital encoders
„X Install and configure peripherals
Installing, testing, upgrading, and training of system
„X Mount servers, digital encoders, switches, and UPSs in allocated locations
„X Wire network equipment and cable management
„X Integrate and test clients billing software with Allins system
„X Integrate and test clients network with Allins system
„X Install work and test station
„X Test all headend equipment
„X Collaborate with development for any upgrades
„X Provide daily updates to Project Lead
„X Train client operator to use and test the system
„X Communicate and collaborate with clients staff (technical, management)
Completing post project duties
„X Create final documentation

Special Requirements
• Ability to work an 80% travel schedule
• Ability and desire to travel overseas by plane or ship for installation projects
• Ability to work overseas in a foreign environment.
• Adaptable to changeable travel schedule (Client dictates travel schedule and arrangements)
• Ability to travel independently and communicate with non-English speaking people.
• Ability to work 10 hours a day when traveling.
• Ability to work in close quarters with others.
• Ability to stand, and walk for long periods of time, at least eight hours per day.
